Today we had to put our 17 year old Staffie (Milo) down. One of the most heartbreaking days of our lives (my wife and two sons were present) as she was one of the most loved members of our family. The compassion and love shown by the staff at Ou Kaapse Vet was out of this world. It was real compassion and empathy, from the heart. Dr Andrew has the most amazing bedside manner and he treated Milo with such love and respect. What amazing people at this vet and I know Milo is looking down from Rainbow Bridge with so much love and gratitude. Thank you Ou Kaapse Vet for being real. It took a lot of the heartbreak away.

Warm, welcoming receptionists who are genuinely concerned with the wellbeing of our pets. The vets are professional and up to speed with new developments in veterinary care and procedures. They listened to my concerns about our pets condition. I felt at ease, reassured and was kept informed at every point during consultation and the various tests done. Highly recommend this practise.

All the staff and I mean all the staff are so caring at Avalon. While waiting for life changing test results to come back, Slywia, who does an outstanding job cleaning the place, made me a cup of tea (after Janey insisted I have one) and said I need a rusk. So while drinking my tea, I got the devastating news that Tyga-Luna had to go to heaven. A candle in the reception was lit. (A sign makes other clients mindful that a furry is going to heaven.) Then in the room they bring in a beautiful cacti in a pot with pebbles and a candle and light it. Any vet I have dealt with there are so sympathetic and treat your furry as their own. (Even the rescues). When you are ready, they send your furry to heaven and leave the room. The hardest was you could see everyone wanted to console you, but due to social distancing you couldn't. I blew out the candle and when I was ready, I left the room. I was spoken to so gently and they insisted that I take the plant with me as a gift. I have had past exp...
