Ou Kaapse Vet

Did you know that there are numerous cat parasites that if left untreated, can pose serious health risks and even death to your cat and are transmissible to you as the owner?

Endoparasites such as tapeworms and roundworms live inside your cat in their intestines. These can cause weight loss, blood loss, diarrhoea, vomiting and general poor condition. If severe enough these can even cause death.

Ectoparasites such as mites, fleas and ticks live on the outside of your cat and feed on your cats blood causing blood loss, poor condition and weight loss. Even more scary, these parasites transmit infectious diseases like tick bite fever and Mycoplasma haemofelis which can be fatal to your cat.

Should you notice any of these symptoms in your cat please do not hesitate to contact the clinic for an appointment on 021 715 7517.
Please always keep in mind that we at Ou Kaapse Vet. Veterinary Hospital Tokai., advise regular deworming every 3 months, and either monthly or every 3rd month, tick and flea treatment to prevent these diseases.
